ATC Textile Duct

Introduction

Textile Ducts

Textile ducts

Textile ducts or textile air-diffusers are technical products used for diffusing or transporting treated air from one point to another, as per exact criteria.

Why choose a textile duct?
The AIRNEO products developed by ATC offer numerous advantages:

From an aeraulic point of view
Diffusion of air by textile ducts gives perfect air diffusion (homogeneous temperatures, delayering, etc. and increases human comfort by keeping airspeeds and temperatures under control. Every order is the subject of an aeraulic study in order to meet end-user requirements.

From a regulations point of view
Textile ducts comply with regulations, especially with fire protection standards in force in every country. Its textile design enables it to benefit from all the latest technical innovations: Fabrics of different weights, coatings, special anti-bacterial or antistatic fabrics, etc.

From an installation point of view
Textile ducts are light, resistant products with few restrictions. AIRNEO textile ducts are designed to be easily removable. They can be adapted to the constraints found on all types of premises: They can be in any shape and be adapted to all types of air treatment. They are products that are upgradable and modular over time.

From an aesthetic point of view
AIRNEO textile ducts offer a wide range of materials, colours, shapes and support systems. Today, textile ducts can be personalized by means of digital printing.

From a servicing point of view
Textile ducts from the AIRNEO range are cleanable, which guarantees their aeraulic efficiency and increases their service life. With its AirnéoPlus offer, ATC has imagined a whole range of services for maintaining aeraulic networks over time.

Applications of Textile Ducts

Applications of textile ducts

Textile air diffusers are highly polyvalent products adaptable to all situations.

ATC possesses real experience in the industrial field. Technology transfers and the will to diversify have given it the possibility of encountering other business sectors and, even today, of approaching new markets.

Food-processing:

Applications of textile ducts

Diffusion of air by textile ducting is especially useful for guaranteeing homogeneous temperatures in premises (required for product conservation) without creating any discomfort for personnel.

In 90% of all cases, ATC offers its Airnéo Référence range.

ATC can recommend its special Airnéo RéférenceAB range, designed using antibacterial fabric, for applications where hygrometric conditions are important.

Logistics buildings and positive and negative temperature warehouses:

Applications of textile ducts

Air diffusion by textile ducting provides good temperature homogeneousness thanks to an efficient, economical high-induction diffusion system.

In 80% of all cases, ATC offers its Airnéo Référence range, in M1.

In cases where long lengths of ducting are required, or for negative temperature atmospheres, the design office can orientate solutions towards the Airnéo First product.

In very specific cases, ducting may be required to be in M0 and ATC can offer the Airnéo Gold range.

Public Buildings:

Applications of textile ducts

Textile ducting is highly recommended for this type of application.

It enables air diffusion to be kept under control irrespective of all the constraints related to these types of building and it meets highly demanding fire-protection standards.

Only the Airnéo Gold range is suited to public buildings.

Industry:

Applications of textile ducts

Textile ducting provides homogeneous air diffusion in process atmospheres, which improves the personnel’s working conditions.

In the majority of cases, the Airnéo Référence range meets these requirements.

In certain specific cases, ATC can recommend its special Airnéo RéférenceAS range, designed using antistatic fabric and suited to ATEX atmospheres.

Textile ducting is a suitable solution irrespective of the type of application:

In building renovations
“Airnéo by ATC” ducts are very light in weight (100 to 500 g/m2). They solicit building structures insignificantly when compared with a metal sheet ducting network.

For applications where hygiene is primordial
Most Airnéo ducts can be machine-washed. They help air-borne contamination to be kept under control.

In certain cases, ATC offers a replacement set of ducts so that changeovers can be made and textile ducting networks can be regularly cleaned.

For short-delivery projects
“AIRNEO by ATC” ducting provides substantial time-savings:
  • Time-saving for preparing the worksite
  • Installation times very much shorter than for metal-sheet ducting.

Diffusion Types

Diffusion Types

ATC uses 4 diffusion types:

RADIANT TYPE
Diffusion Types
Principe : Low air dispersion speed (0.1 to 0.8 m/s) through a surface of porous fabric

Benefits :
  • Short air dispersion range from 2 to 4 m
  • High comfort (accurate control of air velocities, no draughts)
  • Less airbone particles with a filtration effect

Applications :
  • Cooling,
  • Air-conditionning,
  • Ventilating for food processing industries, laboratories and clean rooms.

IMPULSION TYPE

Diffusion Types

Principle : il s’agit d’une diffusion d’air moyenne ou haute vitesse (de 2 à 12 m/s) via des bandes micro-perforées

Benefits :
  • Medium to long air dispersion from 3 to 8 m.
  • Less diffuser required
  • Lower clogging rate

Applications :
  • Heating,
  • Cooling,
  • Air-conditionning and air curtains in medium height premises, food  processing industries, stores and public buildings, industries...

ENERGY TYPE

Diffusion Types

Principle : il s’agit d’une diffusion d’air à haute vitesse via des orifices calibrés

Benefits :
  • Long air dispersion range from 8 to 30 m
  • Use possible with reversible units (heating/cooling)
  • High temperatures differentials (∆T) possible

Applications :
  • Heating,
  • Cooling,
  • Air-conditionning,
  • Ventilating in high premises, food processing industries, supermarkets, industrial premises, stores and public buildings, airports...

HERMETIC TYPE

Diffusion Types

Principle : il s’agit de diffuseurs adaptés au transport d’air

Benefits :
  • Less noise
  • Very light installation

Applications:
  • Air trransport from one point to an other

Support Systems

Support systems

Textile ducts are compatible with several types of support systems.
The choice of support system depends on several criteria:
  • Diffusers’ shapes and cross-sections
  • Building constraints
  • Supply and fitting costs

Cable Suspension

Support systems

This system is only used for circular diffusers. Cable suspension is the system most frequently used. It is the most economical solution in terms of supply and fitting times per meter.

It can be adapted to the widest possible range of constraints (wall or ceiling fitting, changes in level, etc.).
The position of anchoring points must be included in the study. Tractive forces may be up to 250 kg.

To prevent any cable sag, intermediate supports are recommended every 10 to 15 metres.

Rail Suspension

Support systems

The Twist’n Fix rail can be used for circular or semi-circular diffusers. This support system developed by ATC offers interesting savings in fitting times. Only one rail is needed for textile ducts up to 1,000 mm in diameter.
Thanks to its novel technical characteristics (ultra-rapid connectors), the Twist’N Fix system reduces the number of handling operations to be carried out at high levels by privileging pre-assembly on the floor.
It is especially recommended for refurbishment projects.

This support provides peak rigidity, better than a galvanised steel rail and it limits the number of intermediate suspension points required (every 4 to 6 metres against every 2 metres for a galvanised steel rail). Special efforts have been made to make product-handling easier. Aluminium rails are in the form of strips, 3 metres long.

Profile suspension

Support systems

This system is mainly used for diffusers with semi- and quarter-circular cross-sections. Using rods that act as links, the profile suspension system gives continuous, accurate guiding and provides the strength required for holding the ducting in shape.

Use of PVC or aluminium profiles means that smooth, flat surfaces are required for fitting. Rollers or slides may also be used, but the diffuser / profile link is less accurate.

Maintenance of Ducts

Maintenance of Ducts

Maintenance of ducts

Regular servicing of textile air conduits enables savings to be made and increases the equipment’s service life.
All our diffusers are accompanied by cleaning instructions specifying the procedures to be followed and the products to be used.

Most products are entirely machine-washable, but others may need to be washed by hand.
Depending on the application and the fabric concerned, ATC proposes a suitable washing protocol.

Frequency of cleaning:
  • The application concerned
  • The type of diffuser
  • The characteristics of the premises to be treated
  • Up-line filtration

ATC industrial laundry
Practical advice:
Generally speaking, and except for specific applications, we recommend that textile ducts be cleaned at least once a year, above all before any marks or clogging can be seen. Do not hesitate to contact us for assessing the best possible frequency for cleaning depending on your application.

Airnéoplus Quality Control

Maintenance of ducts

On arrival, textile air diffusers are sorted and then washed without coming into contact with products that have been returned from other sources.

After drying, they are meticulously checked for any possible faults and repaired if necessary.

Shapes and Colors

Shapes and Colors

Today, textile ducts offer a vast range of possibilities and gives free rein to imagination.

Shapes

Shapes and colors

Circular conduits
They are privileged whenever allowed by ceiling heights.

Shapes and colors

Semi-circular conduits
They are laid flat against the ceiling using a system of PVC profiles.

They are mainly used in comfort air-conditioning.

They may be recommended when ceiling heights are limited. The saving in space when compared with circular ducting with an equivalent airflow is evaluated at 40%.

Special formats
Whenever necessary, ATC can make special shapes on request: Quarter ellipse, bowstring and a complete set of made-to-measure form parts.

Colours

Textile ducting may become “invisible”: It can merge into the background of the premises by following framework and opting for neutral colours. In other cases, it may become a decorative element in its own right, calling on acidulous colours or printed fabrics. The “AIRNEO by ATC” range includes a wide range of standard colours and special orders can be made in non-standard colours.

The added extra: Personalized marking

Shapes and colors

Thanks to the new printing technologies available at present, personalized marking can now be provided: A printed logo or a visual of your choice.

In this way, textile ducting becomes a media for promoting your brand image!
